We believe it is essential that children should develop an understanding of a variety of cultures. This is done across many aspects of school life - geography, history R.E, assemblies, music, literature and art.
Each term, the school has a Language of the Term which is chosen to celebrate the culture and language of some of the children in our school. This term, we are focusing on Ukrainian. We have so far looked at Afrikaans and Romanian, and we have invited in family members of children who speak these languages to share their culture with the children.
A Current Affairs session has been built into the school week; the children will decide on what to discuss, this could be anything from Children in Need to the American Election and encourages the children to respect other peoples views and opinions.
