The Village Academy

The Village Academy is a group of town, city and village schools that have joined together to provide the very best education for the children in our care and where we believe that education is very much a matter of the individual.

Wrap Around Childcare, Extra Curricular Clubs & Wider Opportunities

Wrap Around Childcare

We run a Before and After-school childcare club:

  • ‘Before School Club’ from 8am each morning, cost is £2 per session
  • ‘4.15 clock’ club, until 4.15pm each day, cost is £2 per session.
  • ‘Full After-School Club’ until 6pm Monday to Thursday, cost is £8 per session, with a light supper and drink provided.

All childcare provision must be booked in advance, via Parentmail and places are limited. If you need a place on the day, you will need to ring the school office to check there is a place available on 01227 752202.

The wrap-around provision is staffed by school employed staff and they offer children different types of activities to keep them busy and entertained. Our beautiful outside areas are used when the weather permits and there is a good range of indoor toys, games and resources to be enjoyed. The light supper for those staying for a full session could include something like spaghetti on toast, a slice of pizza with garlic bread or crumpets. Special dietary requirements can be catered for but please do discuss your child's requirements in advance with staff.

Wider Opportunities and Extra Curricular Clubs

We offer a growing range of clubs and other activities throughout the year.  We regularly join with our partner schools from the Village Academy to share in sporting and enrichment activities.

As part of our curriculum offer, we aim to take all year groups on educational trips or invite in visiting speakers. In addition, to help prepare Year 6 for secondary school, they attend a residential outdoor activity centre, where they take part in team building and other outdoor challenges.

Activity Clubs

Please note that due to Covid, extra - curricular clubs are not running currently except for an outdoor multi-sport clubs arranged in the children's bubbles. Ask the office for more information.

Many of our staff and parents volunteer their time to provide clubs, both at lunchtime, and after school.

After school activity clubs are either free or incur a small charge. Below is an example of activity clubs we provide.
